Applications for Nuit Blanche Saskatoon 2017 are now closed. All applicants will be contacted by May 31, 2017.
Nuit Blanche is open to all forms of art, from visual art (including projection, performance, and installation-based works) to theatre to dance to music to spoken word. We prioritize works that promote audience and community engagement, as well as works that are interactive and/or involve light. We value originality, innovation, cultural diversity, accessibility, curiosity, surprise, and exploration.
Each year the majority of projects in Nuit Blanche Saskatoon are selected from our open call by our Programming Committee, comprised of local artists and curators. Additional works will also be curated by our Guest Curator, Michael Peterson.
Reflecting Saskatoon's diversity, we are committed to incorporating work by Indigenous artists, newcomer artists, and young artists. We will inform selected artists by late spring 2017.
Yes. Artists will be paid according to the guidelines set by their respective representative organization(s) (CARFAC, ACTRA, CFM, etc.).
We are able to offer some funding for materials and equipment and are happy to coordinate community partnerships to provide in-kind donations and infrastructure support. However, we cannot guarantee all costs will be covered. Please include a detailed list of materials required for your particular work when submitting your application.
We will host Nuit Blanche Saskatoon on Saturday, September 30th unless there are severe weather warnings. If you wish to use an outdoor site for your work, please be prepared to go ahead in inclement weather conditions.
We are looking for partners in the Riversdale and Broadway areas who are interested in hosting an installation. For more information please email us: email@example.com
Please note the following:
Our curator will work with each performance to establish appropriate performance lengths (generally half an hour or less) and to schedule these throughout the night. Shorter and/or longer performances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please include as much detail as possible in your application submission.
