About NBYXE
The Nuit Blanche festival is an art movement that is celebrated in cities across the globe, and arrived in Saskatoon in 2014, when the first Nuit Blanche Saskatoon was held in the Riversdale neighbourhood. Since then, NBYXE has expanded to become a city-wide festival celebrating our city’s vibrant arts scene every year in September.
NBYXE is a free night-time contemporary arts festival featuring projections, sculptural installations, performance, music, theatre, and other contemporary art forms that wow festival-goers late into the evening.
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to engage with contemporary art while exploring our city.
Our mission Our mission is to celebrate contemporary art and culture, with the city as our canvas. By bringing art into public spaces, we aim to remove barriers, spark curiosity, and enable everyone to enjoy art in their own way.
Nuit Blanche Saskatoon is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, with one paid curator position. The funding is secured by writing grants and sponsorship. Nuit Blanche relies on partnering with businesses, BIDs and organizations to host programming. The Majority of funding goes towards the artists, promotion and logistics to ensure a successful event.
