Learn more about the application process at our 2025 artist submissions workshop!
Where: Paved Arts
When: March 21st @ 6pm
Nuit Blanche Saskatoon is excited to host a free workshop to launch and guide our ‘Call for Artists’ for the festival on September 20, 2025. With the theme “Living in Between,” this workshop aims to encourage applications from a diverse range of artists, including first-time applicants, emerging artists, youth artists, and newcomer artists.
About the curator
Xiao Han is a Saskatoon-based curator originally from Wuhan, China. Han's research explores diaspora identity, the relationship between immigrants and indigenous land, and contemporary gender issues through a decolonial lens.
Han has curated numerous exhibitions in Saskatoon, nationally and internationally. With extensive experience in art and curatorial practice, Han believes that art lives in public spaces and is meant to foster connections within communities. By introducing the theme “Living in Between”, we invite artists and artworks to showcase their exploration between spaces, mediums, spectrums, languages, cultures, time, and stories that bridge communities and generations.
What to Expect
The curator and board chair will give a presentation starting by introducing the Nuit Blanche history and the 2025 team. With a slideshow, the curator will give the background about the theme, navigation of the Nuit Blanche official website, and present detailed guidelines for the open call. With these guidelines, we will walk through how to prepare your application package for both methods (email or Google form), go over what to include in a description, how to title your files and more. Take this opportunity as a general study on application preparation.
