and help transform our city.
If you have a passion for promoting public engagement with the arts and supporting Saskatoon’s thriving arts scene, now is your chance to join our team as a festival volunteer!
We’re looking for:
Enthusiastic and responsible volunteers who are available for a few events leading up to September 20th (night of the festival) interested in roles such as:
Set up/ Take down:
The Muscle. You will be empowered to carry easels, put up chairs and tables, deliver noise and road closure notices, or even raise a tipi. Requirement: a cheerful attitude toward physical labour.
Postering:
Our valiant posterers make sure our posters are put up all over town. Nuit’s eye-catching advertisements don’t just spring up in business windows and on campus cork boards like mushrooms after the rain. That would be convenient, but a little horrifying.
Information Guides- Main Festival Night and Nuit Blanche Eve:
Those who staff our information booths make sure people know what Nuit Blanche is, where to find it, and how to experience its marvels. Some more footloose members of this team may be tasked with leaving the booth to seek out curious but slightly bewildered festival-goers in the field.
Information: Year-Round:
Our ambassadors. These individuals staff booths at various events or festivals in Saskatoon and get attendees excited about Nuit Blanche. Telling stories about previous events, talking about artists who will be at this year’s festival, or just chatting with curious folk can all help spread Nuit news!
Artist Support:
A not-so villainous henchperson. The service-oriented might find joy in being assigned to an artist for whatever their needs might be. This could involve grabbing a water bottle for a thirsty performer or tracking down a particular member of the Nuit Team.
Bouncers:
These hardy souls promote and protect Nuit Blanche’s art. They make sure folk know where the art is and not to climb all over it..
Photographer:
Those who see the world through a camera’s lens can help us capture Nuit Blanche’s magic. On the night of the festival, volunteer photographers will be given specific artists and/or areas to document. Please note Nuit Blanche does not sanction or support drone photography..
Tour Guide:
Nuit Blanche offers a walking tour of the festival. People go two ways on walking tours: some are bored to tears, it fills the others with wonder and cheer. If you want to spread the latter, and enjoy walking and presenting, this could be your role!
Qualifications:
Positive attitude.
Ability to follow instructions and work well independently or as part of a team.
Problem-solving skills.
Past relevant volunteer experience is an asset, but not required.
