Hailey Weber X 30 Birds X The 525

This project brought both Afghan and Canadian women together to create a massive soak-stain quilt, merging feminist abstraction with textile traditions. The 40 foot painted quilt sculpture is immersive, its scale invites you to walk inside to experience layered colors and textures that evoke intimacy and resilience. Each patch speaks to stories of matriarchal memory, cross-cultural dialogue, and collective care. It stands as a living archive of shared labor and creativity, inviting reflection on the beauty of interwoven identities and histories.

“The Quilt Project”

This collaborative project merges the artistic practice of Saskatoon based artist Hailey Weber and 30 Birds Foundation- a Saskatoon-based charity dedicated to ensuring Afghan girls can pursue their academic, professional, and personal dreams. This project is facilitated by The 525, a a nonprofit arts collective dedicated to producing immersive, accessible, site-specific pop-up exhibitions that transform unconventional spaces.
