Vietnamese Water Puppetry

Vietnamese Water Puppetry is a unique form of traditional puppetry, where every splash of water becomes part of the performance, making each show one of a kind. The puppeteers, who bring the puppets to life, must stand waist-deep in water behind the curtain for hours, depending on the duration of the performance. In this artwork, you become a puppet standing on the water, surrounded by other puppets. The artwork offers a brief glimpse into the process of creating a puppet and how these puppets come together to bring each performance to life.
